Coach Dog Carrier

I am a dog lover, a big dog lover (literally). I am not sure why, but small dogs are not for me. It could be because I am 5′10 or the fact that I do not want to step on my animal. Either way, dog carriers would never fit a dog that I will own.

A dog carrier that screams ‘look at me, look at me’ is even less my style. The Coach Dog Carrier is no doubt made with designer love but is over-logofied. The side mesh window with buckle closure is exactly where I would hide if I were being carried in this contraption.

The signature jacquard fabric with metallic leather trim will take away from your pup in my opinion. Measurements are 17 (L) x 12 (H) x 9 1/4 (W). Buy it via Coach for $398.

Coach Hamptons Weekend Collection

Coach changes their lines as often as I change my pants. Ok maybe not that much, and don’t get some weird thought about me changing my pants, but you know what I mean.

First let me introduce you to the Coach Hampton’s Patchwork Soft Tote. Bright and light, this tote shows off a plethora of pastel colored patches, including Signature lurex, scribble sateen cotton, stripe sateen cotton, Signature floral print, zebra print, and Signature jacquard fabric. Perfect to add a bright touch to any outfit, the tote also has an outside zip pocket and an additional outside pocket with a hidden magnetic closure.

While many of us love our totes, we hate having an open top tote, in fear that we may loose something or someone may decide to make us loose something. Thankfully this bag has a zip-top closure, which makes way to the fabric lining, inside zip pocket, and a multi-function pocket. The tote measures 15 (L) x 10 1/2 (H) x 5 (W) and is now available via coach for $498.

Marc Jacobs Goes Neon

Marc Jacobs was definitely singing a tune from the 80’s when he designed his "Marc by Marc Jacobs" Fall 2008 collection. The collection consisted of neon wear in all types of shades and graphics.

This collection was definitely a girly one with the cute short dresses and school girl skirts.
Although the line was girly it had a lot of edge, which would work perfectly. Now we all have to wait until the end of fashion week to see what Marc will unveil for his other big show.

Calvin Klein Goes Simple For New York

Calvin Klein unveiled his Fall 2008 collection in New York for fashion week and we have one word to describe it, simple.

The show which brought in Liv Tyler and “Heroes” star Ali Larter proved that simple could be chic. With casual wear to models nearly makeup-free and hair pulled back in severe ponytails everything was just very simple.

Our favorite creation from the line is the metallic silk glittered gown, which will make its way on any red carpet best dressed list.

Trend Tuxedo in 2008

Did I say jacket? I meant suit. Or shirt. Or pants. Whatever, tuxedo/dinner suit-inspired clothing (however you decide to do it) is certainly on trend for 2008.

The Spring / Summer 2008 runway shows were littered with tuxedo elements - from the metallic high-sheen suiting of Jens Laugesen to the tuxedo-inspired shirting at Miu Miu.

Don't worry boys - they're back for you too. But in the meantime a dinner jacket or bibbed tuxedo shirt are the perfect way for a girl to pull off a masculine look with ultimate sex appeal. If you're going for the dinner jacket, don't forget to team it with a hot mini or sleek skinny pants.

Bird Handbags One Night Stand in Fabric

Aztec prints are a trend of Spring/Summer 2008 and will make a place for themselves next to the floral print trend. We recently introduced you to Bird Handbags and the designer behind the bags, Liz Carey. One of the biggest hits from this line is the over sized One Night Stand clutch. While the clutch is already available in leather, ostrich, and python, Liz Carey released the Bird Handbags One Night Stand in Aztec Fabric for Spring/Summer 2008. While this bag may not meet your fancy, it is a stunning piece and perfect for the over-sized clutch trend.

For those that yearn for a hippie-chic bag or a fabric print, this is a great option. Bergdorf Goodman will be carrying the Fabric One Night Stand February 1st (all of the bags are one of a kind). This fabric clutch retails for $995. Buy through Bird Handbags online. Also Lux Couture is carrying some Bird Handbags.

There were a few pieces of information I was missing that I’d like to add: The bags are all embroidered by hand and have ostrich handles. The vintage fabric used on these bags originates from Guatemala. Right now some boutiques that carry the One Night Stand are Fred Segal Flair, Satine and Presse. This month Elle Accessories has featured this handbag! And the list of celebrities that love this bag include Cameron Diaz, Patricia Arquette, Lake Bell and Rosario Dawson.

Balenciaga Crocodile Weekender

After bringing you stunning pictures of the Balenciaga Crocodile Work Bag, I had to find out more information about Balenciaga crocodile bags. It seems Balenciaga does dabble in the art of exotics every now and again, and when they do the skins are stunning and the colors pop.

From the Fall 07 collection, the Balenciaga Crocodile Weekender in yellow was released and it is quite the show stopper. The weekender is just as large as its name suggests, and this yellow crocodile version will be sure to capture every eye on your weekend getaways.

If you are in the market for a crocodile B-bag, you can speak to the boutique as they are all custom made. Balenciaga is known for their wide array of beautiful colors, so imagine picking another bright bold color and placing it on a crocodile bag. The price will surely capture your attention, at $22,500.

70s reborn

Floaty dresses with ruffled hems and bell-sleelves make their mark.

Team with leather accessories in tans and browns - woodstack heeled boots or platforms are a requirement; and tousled, wavy tresses complete the look perfectly. Keep it crisper and cleaner than last year's boho.

How To Wear Gold

One of Autumn's biggest trends sees black and gold reunited in plush fabrics and decadent detail. Think deep black velvet and suede, gold threading and brocade.

For something more suitable for daytime wear, opt for simple fabrics or demin set off by gold accessories. If you're on the sunny side of the world, you can easily pick the trend up and bring it into Summer mode, with pieces that will carry over to Autumn and Winter.

DO:

  • Embroidery, beading and brocade
  • Bold gold jewellery, like gold chains, solid gold cuffs, and gold belt buckles
  • Gold leather accessories, like sexy high-heeled shoes, evening bags and soft leather belts
  • Sparkle

PURPLE HAZE

Not since Prince hit the stage in 1984 to praise purple rain have varying shades of violet, eggplant, and aubergine held so much allure. As the first few days of New York Fashion Week shows came to a close, it became clear designers are giving this season the royal treatment.

At Costello Tagliapietra, a knee-length silk skirt in a true grape hue was the standout of a monochrome ensemble, while silver accents brought out the true depth in another plum look. The return of Herve Leger meant more body-clinging silhouettes than ever, especially effective in a bandage halter dress in a steely amethyst shade.

Jeremy Laing's futuristic prints were a study in violet done right, particularly when paired with simple black tights and shoes. Erin Fetherston, Nicole Miller, and Yigal Azrouel all saw fall through a bit of a purple haze, as well.

Marc Jacobs Small Patchwork Tote

Amidst the glitzy metallics and jubilant reds and greens of the winter, I’m making room for one of my favorite colors: soft, feminine pink. Thanks to Marc Jacobs and his decadent Small Patchwork Tote, I can do that with ease.

This dressy handbag is practical with a strong dose of ladylike charm. The blush color is divine, and even more attractive on a bag of this size - it somehow adds to the dainty quality. It’s petite, but not so tiny that it won’t do a great job getting you through the day.

An outstanding alternative to this slouchy, enormous bags, the Small Patchwork Tote is one of my favorite purses ever. Available for $1713

High-heeled Mary Janes

Have you noticed that Mary-Jane has had a make over? Once confined to school-girls and church-goers, Mary Jane shoes are now adorning the feet of celebrities, starlets and wild child party animals everywhere.

Some top picks:

Lanvin Woven Straw Ludvine Bag

Everyone has that one (or two, or three, or yes even four) bag(s) that they love to death, that they couldn’t ever imagine any other bag coming close in comparison, or well at least ever chucking it in closet dooming it for years, only to substitute it for any other.

Trends come and go, but the bag you love is classic, timeless, or even just plain ideal for your everyday needs. You have met your match. It may be your Chanel 2.55 bag, Balenciaga City, YSL Muse, Coach Signature Tote, Hermes Birkin, etc. For me, well besides my GSH City and (at this moment) Nightingale, the love in my life that I can’t seem to part with, ever since I saw it sitting neatly upon a pedestal in the Barney’s window, is my Lanvin Ludvine bag.

(satin version pictured on momist). Not exactly the same version pictured above, mine is dressed in a luxe squishy black leather with vintage brown goat flat handles and features a totally chic lucite frame. Nonetheless, if they were standing next to each other, one would obviously come to the conclusion that they are closely related if not twins. I will wear it until its death..

The version resting in my closet is long sold out, however the style lives.. but not for too long because it’s in the sale section of bluefly for 20% off!

The form of the bag (pictured above) is created out of black woven straw and features silver-tone hardware. For easy access there is a large front patch pocket with twist-lock closure, that’s ideal for everything you want close (cellphone, keys, tickets, etc). The double rolled leather straps has a 6.5” drop, so to fits comfortably over the shoulder.

The framed bag opens wide enough (about 11″,) to reveal everything in your bag within reach. No sifting for your wallet. Also, the lucite frame has a magnet built in, so it snaps shut with the slightest tap. Measurements: 15.5” at widest x 9.5” tall at center x 7” deep.

Louis Vuitton

Apparently there is no end to the barrage of atrocious bags from Louis Vuitton. But let's be fair here for a minute, I do appreciate the attempt at creativity with the LV monogram - which clearly MJ himself is sick of.

And the overall design of the bags is not completely heinous (I prefer the shape of the smaller one on the right), now stick on a couple of cutsey but useless plastic buttons, stitch the monogram in yellow on top of all of Barbie's favorite colors and you have a bag totally suitable for Jemina, our very chic 7 year old God-daughter.
